Mas Construction

Mas Construction

Forgive me if you speak Spanish – there should be an accent over the “a” in mas (meaning: more) but for the life of me I can’t make it work.

Work, however, is AGAIN happening in the house. Every time we start getting settled, and enjoying that we don’t have workers traipsing in and out of the house all the time, we end up discovering another “project” that needs doing.

Today began the demolition phase of some small projects on the second floor.

1. We are replacing the vanity, mirror, and toilet in the “Calle Room” – which doubles as Basha’s office. The vanity was originally destined for the rooftop bathroom, but when the carpenter finished it, it was TOO BIG to fit. It will be great in the Calle Room. (People who have stayed in the Calle Room will appreciate that the mirror will be taller, and there will be elbow room on the toilet!)

2. We are replacing 2 of the windows in the Sun Room with opening windows. We want more airflow in the upstairs hallway. They will open into the Sun Room so that they do not impede passage through the hall.

Today’s demolition –

Poco a poco (little by little) we are making our dream house!
