Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Ch-Ch-Ch-Ch-Changes

Haven’t even finished getting ALL the construction photos up, I’ll get there eventually.

Today we had a new, might I say refined (?), addition to the house. For those of you that have been here, you will easily see the magnitude of the changes.

We ordered drapes and outdoor cushions for the house. Some windows have not had any covering since we moved in. Others were “the best we could do with what we had”.

Living Room

AFTER

The drapes make the room much cooler and less stark with the sunlight!

Office & TV room

The large, street-facing windows in the office and TV room have privacy glass, but let in a TON of light and heat. The office *might* be used as an overflow guest room, and so we wanted nice, room-darkening drapes.

Upstairs – hallway and master bedroom

The master bedroom had blinds that did an ok job of room darkening. The problem came when we left the window open and the lower support rod would smack against the wall and window all night long. So we opted for drapes to decrease the noise. In the hallway, there had never been a window shade for the door leading to the front balcony. The balcony faces east and gets TONS of light and heat. We think this will do a lot to help keep the house cooler.

Reading nooks

There are two cozy spaces on the roof for relaxing/reading/daydreaming. They are a brilliant use of what would have been wasted space. Today we got the pillows to complete them. I know where I’ll be spending A LOT of time. 😍

I am sooooo excited about how everything is coming together. We are incredibly happy and fortunate.

Beautiful, Kaddee and Jack! What fab upgrades! Will make a huge difference, I’m sure.

You look very happy!
And your home is coming along beautifully!

Congrats Kadee!

Can’t wait to visit one day!

We are open for visits – just realize that there will ALWAYS be something going on! 🙂

Wow – Kate & Jack. Your “cozy” spaces on the roof are heaven. And the drapes soften everything – in addition to allowing everyone to sleep. Your house is a dream.
Love,
Dad
